It has been a week since we completed our MasterClass Train The Trainer program and I thought I would take some time to reflect on the program and share my thoughts with you.

I developed the program some years ago as I wanted to share my personal knowledge and experience with aspiring trainers. The intention was to help others shorten their learning curve and at the same time, to raise the standards in the training industry. Now, I am not saying that I am the best, and therefore everyone should run training like me. It was not my intention to produce clones of me as trainers. However, having been in the industry for many years, I have learned the hard way. I know what works and what doesn’t. And I am prepared to share all this with my students.

Over five days, we learned the theories behind training, the methodologies, the techniques and more importantly, we practiced. Micro-labs where the trainers get to practice speaking in front of an audience, test out their activities, rehearse their stories, experiment with jokes – all this in a safe environment, surrounded by fellow trainers who give invaluable feedback on what works and what does not. You cannot improve if you don’t get your feet wet.

I have trained thousands of trainers over the years and the recent class may well be my last public MasterClass Train The Trainer program as I focus on developing new programs (at least for the next 2 years). However, never say never and if the right opportunity comes along, I may run the program again.

Until then, I wish all my MasterClass Trainers out there all the very best. Do your best, give your all and have fun in the best and most rewarding job I know. It is hard work and you earn every dollar but it is extremely fulfilling and lots of fun.
