Living By Design – everything is impossible until it is done

Live By Design – December 2015: by Elvina Cheah, Children’s Coach

I came to know about NLP through a graduate of BKI – Olivia Ong. I was endlessly surprised by her ability to solve problems and coach people to see the true root cause behind every effect. She has coached me personally with the mere intention of getting me to move forward in life and liberate me from my limiting beliefs. I am a very competitive person and am afraid of being toppled. Such attitude made me wonder. what is it that gave her such character? With this, inspired as I was, I decided to model her.

Prior to the attending LBD, I had some sense of what I would like to achieve in my life and had no doubt I was already on the way there, along with a great team of people at my company. However, I did not feel fulfilled and my emotions tend to get the better of me. I was constantly overcome by anxiety and panic to the point I paralyse right before a training or an important task. To be honest, even today, I still face the same emotions. I had not generated any remarkable or impressive results that I thought I was capable of. And I only thought of why. Until I was taught Meta-Breaking and drilled for purpose. Carl Jung, the famous Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist who founded analytical psychology once said,

“Neurosis is the suffering of a soul which has not discovered its meaning”

As we know, NLP is the study of the mind with an approach to communication, personal development and even psychotherapy. I did my research about Neuro- Linguistic Programming then shortly after, with my phone, and little money, I decided to call up a few centers for NLP.

In the end, I decided to go for BKi, after surveying different NLP centers. Bryen, assisted me effectively and efficiently. From his quick response, I knew that I would be able to trust this institute. Shortly after that, Bryen conducted a Value Elicitation session with me and in just 15 minutes I got to see my life clearer than I ever did and what I desired all along, and what made me feel “neurotic”.

Attending LBD has turned my perspective at 180degrees because now, even in the face of panic, I have the courage to pick myself up and just do it because I now know how to handle my thoughts. I’ve mastered panic and turned it into adrenaline. And everyday, it wakes me up. It excites me to achieve more. Kit and Billy showed me the way of maximizing results in minimum time.

As much as I had the courage to dive deep, I would not have been able to have made it if not for the awesome trainers Kit, Billy, Voon Sia, Bryen, the team and even the participants. The power of their intention has transformed many lives, including mine. This investment brought me a breakthrough that will last me a lifetime. Writing this right now on the 8th of June 2016, I am excited to attend my MLBD and NLP Trainer course later this year as the goal I had set in LBD December 2015 :-).

Whoever is reading this, take action now. For your breakthrough will not only bring you greatness, but also fruits to your loved ones. We rise when we lift others.

Compete to raise the bar. Compete with yourself yesterday. And make the daily roofs your new floor.

Everything is impossible until it is done.

Take away time all we have is now, take away space, all we have is here.

My friend, there is no better time to start Living by Design.

Decluttering – Part 2 update (quick tip)

By | ABNLP, Billy Kueek, Change, Coaching, Corporate training, Hypnosis, NLP, Personal Development, Time Line Therapy, Training, Uncategorized

On the matter of decluttering paper and documents, here is a quick tip on those papers that you should keep but are oh so fiddly. I am referring to receipts, especially for warranty purposes.  You need to keep receipts as proof of purchase when you may need to get the item repaired within the warranty period, yet nowadays, the receipts are printed on heat sensitive paper which fades over time.

One easy way to keep track of all this is to take a snapshot of the receipt and email it to yourself. Create a new folder in your email to store all such documents. To make it easier to search, the email subject should contain the item details, name of store and the expiry date (rather than the date of purchase).

For example, Philips kettle, Harvey Norman, 3rd June 2017.

This makes it easy for you to find the right receipt without opening all your emails, and when the expiry date has passed, you can delete the email. Most stores will accept a reprinted copy of the receipt, but do check when you are purchasing the item.

Decluttering your Life – part 2

By | ABNLP, Billy Kueek, Change, Coaching, Corporate training, Hypnosis, NLP, Personal Development, Time Line Therapy, Training, Uncategorized

Now that you have decided to start decluttering, you are wondering where to start. While there is no hard and fast rule on this, here is a suggested sequence to follow:

  • Clothes
  • Books, papers and documents
  • Sentimental items, gifts, “just in case” items
  • Photos
  • Bathroom
  • Kitchen
  • Store

CLOTHES

First of all, anything that is the wrong size or wrong colour has to go. What is the point of keeping that dress you have which is 2 sizes too small, hoping that one day you will be able to fit into it again? Or that blouse that is out of fashion, but may become fashionable again in say, 20 years! It has got to go.

If it is torn, or buttons missing, moth eaten, elastic worn out or just not your style, bin it. And that old T-shirt that has certainly seen better days but is so comfortably worn-in, if you won’t be seen in public in it, then it should not be seen at all.

Then there are items which you may have bought for “that occasion” which has not happened, or the bargains you picked up because the discount was too good to turn down, yet remains unworn.

Ask yourself for what purpose are you keeping those items of clothing. Do they serve any purpose apart from taking up space in your wardrobe. Stop kidding yourself that you will make use of it. It is only wishful thinking.

BOOKS, PAPERS AND DOCUMENTS

All important papers and documents should be filed neatly so that they can be found and accessed easily. Easier said than done as it is likely that they are all over the place rather than kept in a “to file” drawer or box. Again, like your clothes, you should take all your papers and documents and put them into a pile on your table (or floor) and sort them in one go.

Anything that is not important can be put in the recycling pile (or shredded). Those that you had planned to read but have not done so, time to throw them away into the recycling section. With the Internet bringing information in seconds, most of the papers we collect are not really needed. This included recipes that we may have cut out from newspapers and magazines as it is much easier to google for them.

If you are anything like me, you probably have at least 20 books in your home that you had bought but just never found the time to read. And the likelihood is that you never will. If the topic is not appealing enough, then give it away. Face the fact that the money spent on the book will benefit someone else, just not you.

Old books that have been read should also be given away. With the exception of classics and special books that you truly love (and will re-read), there is no need to keep a fully stocked library of books just to look well read. Let others enjoy them after you. You will be glad you did.

In our next posts, we will look at decluttering the next items on the list.

Declutter your life – part 1

By | ABNLP, Addiction, Billy Kueek, Change, Coaching, Food for thought, Hypnosis, NLP, Personal Development, Success, Time Line Therapy

How many of us are clutter free? Or is it more likely that we are surrounded by clutter? How did that happen and why do we allow it to happen? And more importantly, how do we declutter.

Clutter stops us from moving ahead. Some of us hide behind the clutter. Some find comfort in it. Some just cannot decide what to get rid of so they end up getting rid of nothing. Whatever the reason, it is time to clear our lives of the ‘stuff’ that we have collected.

The stuff that I am referring to is not just physical things though that usually makes up a huge portion of our clutter.

“Clutter is not just physical stuff. It’s old ideas, toxic relationships and bad habits. Clutter is anything that does not support your better self.” – Eleanor Brownn

Type of Clutter that we may have:

  • Physical – the things that we have in our homes, our offices, our cars
  • Mental – negative thoughts, limiting beliefs
  • Emotional – negative emotions, toxic relationships
  • Behavioural – bad habits
  • Financial – unpaid bills, uncleared debts, unfixed tax papers, unsorted documents, unwritten wills
  • Virtual – old emails, unopened emails, old phone numbers and addresses, etc

What is it that stops us from decluttering?

Here are a few reasons that sound good (sound familiar anyone?)

  • Too much stuff so it becomes overwhelming
  • Don’t know where to start
  • Make a start but give up too soon
  • Cannot let go
    • Have emotional attachments
    • “but it seems such a waste…”
    • “well, I may need it one day’
  • Cannot decide
  • Lack of awareness or in denial – emotional clutter
  • Not ready to face the problems – financial clutter

Let’s face it. We keep things. Just in case. That is the most common reason given for the things we have, just in case we need it, just in case it contains important information, just in case someone else needs it. And yet, if we are truly honest about it, that Just in Case moment has never arisen!

In our next posts, we will look into how to start decluttering and the benefits of decluttering.

NLP Preview – Let’s Live By Design!

By | ABNLP, Billy Kueek, Change, Coaching, Hypnosis, NLP, Personal Development, Time Line Therapy

In a recent global survey, over 20,000 people were asked to answer one question: “Things you wish you had learned in school, but no one taught you”.

The results were certainly interesting.

The biggest gap perceived by those in the survey was in Happiness & Positive Living. More than 60% of respondents rated this as being very important and yet they had received very little formal education on it.

Real and relevant education is becoming a precious commodity. If you agree with the respondents and are thinking along similar lines, imagine learning the skills and knowledge that will help you address your concerns and teach you to be a better parent, better spouse, better friend, have healthier relationships, be more positive and live the life that you want.

Discover how you too can live your best & learn how to take charge of your life right now. Come along to our free preview and find out more about the exciting world of self advancement & changing mindsets.

My Journey: Live By Design

By | ABNLP, Billy Kueek, Change, Coaching, Hypnosis, NLP, Personal Development, Time Line Therapy

Personal sharing of Jessica (24 years old) on her experience during a certification program conducted by Billy Kueek International

“Life is like a camera,

Focus on what’s important,

Capture the good times,

Develop from the negatives

And if things don’t work out,

Take another shot.

This quote perfectly sums up my LBD (Live By Design) journey organized by Billy Kueek International (BKI). LBD is short for Live By Design and not by default, a program which has benefitted me tremendously as it shows me how to live my life according to my own principles and own values, and not according to other people’s expectations. In our society or culture, there are no shortages of cases where people, friends and family members “recommend” how we should live our life, what work or job we should pursue, what course we should study, what to eat… and the list goes on. I am pretty sure all of us to do it – whether consciously or unconsciously – and I have had my fair share of being on the receiving end of these incidences as well while growing up.

In a nutshell, I became obsessed with how other people viewed me, or what they thought of me, and hence I became pessimistic. I was frequently angry, irritated and had lots of negative thoughts in my head. I became withdrawn, fearful of talking to people or strangers – fearful of them judging me and my appearance. I even dreaded going to parties and social gatherings because I would panic thinking about: “What if someone starts talking to me, and then compares me with my sibling (twin sister)?”

The 5Ps to Prosperity

By | ABNLP, Applied NLP in Business, Billy Kueek, Coaching, Corporate training, Hypnosis, NLP, Personal Development, Time Line Therapy, Training

Prosperity can mean different things to different people. To some, it means wealth, and for others it may be their health, family’s well being or financial freedom. However one defines it, the main elements that will guarantee its success are universal. Here are some tips to get you started.

Passion

Sometime ago, I wrote a quote that says: “Without passion, life is only motion”. Passion is the driving force behind all successful people and companies. It provides the ‘fuel’ that keeps you going during tough times, gets you up in the morning and motivates you to persevere no matter what. While many people may have a great idea and a wonderful plan to implement it, some may abandon it halfway due to lack of passion and enthusiasm.

To find your passion, think about what are your values – the inner forces that drive your thoughts, actions and behaviors. By understanding yourself better and knowing your personal values, you can then work with them or change them to maximize your potential.

Planning

Another one of my quotes is: “Proper Planning Prevents Potential Problems”. Yes, planning is needed too when it comes to wealth. How else would you know what to prepare for, how to organize your ‘wealthy’ ideas and put them into action? By planning, you will also be prepared for setbacks and know what alternative actions you can put into place to overcome obstacles. Success comes to those who are prepared, so plan ahead to stay ahead!

Procrastination… Not!

Procrastination is like the ‘evil twin’ to productivity. Although many would love to have more money or better health, there are just as many who would put off doing something about it. Then ideas of success remain as that – just ideas. So if you find yourself feeling not too motivated or lethargic about doing something, try something different today. Go for a short walk or people-watch at a local mamak; by simply changing a small part of your daily routine, you put yourself in motion and that will get you off the chair and put you one step closer to your desired prosperity.

Persistence

In order to succeed at whatever you want, you need to have patience and persistence. When one plan does not produce results, try and try again. If one way does not produce results, then try another way. In NLP, we advocate ‘There is no failure; only feedback.’ By persevering and continuing to try to make it work – that is the hallmark of a fighter, of someone who is willing to do whatever it takes to triumph and emerge victorious.

Positivity

There is an NLP Presupposition that states: perception is projection. Whatever you are thinking about is thinking about you too. For example, even in a crowded shopping mall on a weekend, if someone believes that they can find a parking space and visualize exactly where or how they can get it, 9 times out of 10 they will find one.

Positive thinking can create life-changing results. So in order to attract more wealth, good health and even happiness, you have to think positively about it and believe that you are wealthy, healthy and happy, and that you deserve it.

We are all destined to achieve excellence, but in life, there will be obstacles along the way. The idea that everyone is in charge of their thoughts, behavior and success led my team and I to create the Live By Design Certification Training Program. The program combines NLP with Time Line Therapy™, Hypnotherapy and coaching to provide a complete toolkit.

Imagine having the tools that will help you cope with life’s challenges while at university, at work or at home, and be able to have a positive mindset no matter what happens. You would like to have that, wouldn’t you?

Neuro Linguistic Programming is one of the best empowerment tools you can learn and is used by millions including Oprah Winfrey, Anthony Robbins, Sophie Dahl, Lily Allen, Bill Clinton and Tony Blair. How you apply NLP in everyday life is really only limited by your imagination. It can be utilized for anything, from parenting to work, from enhancing relationships to achieving your goals, from taking control of your life to performing at peak state in sports… the  sky is the limit when it comes to NLP.

NLP and Parenting

By | ABNLP, Billy Kueek, Change, Coaching, Hypnosis, NLP, Personal Development, Time Line Therapy, Training

As a parent, were there times when you were frustrated because you could not help your child in times of need? Are you equipped with the right tools and knowledge to guide your child? What skills can you develop or learn in order to be your child’s best coach and to be the best parent you can be?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) offers the most powerful tools to improve the chances of success in life. Prominent success coach Anthony Robbins, world-class tennis player Andre Agassi and award-winning TV host Oprah Winfrey are all practitioners of NLP.

Think of NLP as a toolbox for life. It can help you to help your child set the right goals in the right way and discover their passion and purpose in life. NLP can help to create powerful beliefs that will help your child achieve, enhance their learning strategies and generate positive behaviours.

NLP is whatever works on a daily basis. By understanding your child better – how he thinks, how he interprets information, how he learns – parents will be able to achieve outstanding results.

Apart from helping your child, you will also learn techniques to manage your own state better, to liberate yourself from limiting beliefs, and how to tap on your inner wisdom for problem resolution.

An Investment For Life

By | ABNLP, Addiction, Applied NLP in Business, Billy Kueek, Change, Coaching, Corporate training, Hypnosis, NLP, Personal Development, Time Line Therapy, Train The Trainer, Training, Weight Loss

How much is your life worth?

When you are healthy, you may not be willing to pay much for medical care.  However, for someone who is sick, they would pay any amount to get better.  The value of something is based on what someone will pay for it.

Most of us buy life insurance because, in the event something happens to us, our family members will receive the insurance money, which is substantially higher than what was paid.  However, that usually means the insured is no longer around (or is incapacitated).

Here’s the thing though – When you invest in the Live By Design Practitioner program, you have the opportunity to change your life forever.

As an accountant would explain it – let’s say the program costs USD 3,000.  And let’s say you are now 30 years old, so we estimate you will be working for the next 30 years.  If you are able to change your life today, the investment of USD3,000 spread over 30 years is only USD 100 per year, or about USD 8 per month, or a mere USD 2 per week, or – and this will blow your mind – less than 30 cents per day!

Imagine – your investment in yourself, in improving, enhancing and bettering yourself, is less than the cost of a cup of coffee per day.

That is probably the best investment you are going to make. One that starts paying ‘dividends’ immediately, where you and your family members and friends will benefit, rather than wait for something to happen to claim the insurance.  And you will surely continue to benefit for the rest of your life.  The return on your investment will be many times greater than the money you pay and you will reap the rewards every day.

So when someone asks me, why they should pay to join our program, I ask them how much their life is worth.

From the desk of Dr Billy Kueek

By | ABNLP, Applied NLP in Business, Billy Kueek, Change, Coaching, Corporate training, Hypnosis, NLP, Personal Development, Time Line Therapy, Training, Weight Loss

A great big HELLO to everyone!

How time flies by! It seems like I was just wishing all of you Happy New Year yesterday, when in fact we’re already a month into 2013!

So how was your January 2013? How many of you started it by making new year resolutions? If you did so by setting S.M.A.R.T. goals and are well on your way to realizing them, then congratulations on your tenacity & determination, and I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors!

Sometimes though, resolutions can be a hit-and-miss affair if it’s more of a ‘wish’ list. As you think of the year ahead, what do you see yourself achieving? What are you thinking? How do you feel? The good news is, with the right skills, you can make that wish list into a YES list!

We’ve got a fantastic line-up of courses planned for the whole year and there’s bound to be one (or more) that is suitable for your needs & schedule. In response to growing demand for specialized NLP programs which focus on specific topics, we have some very exciting programs for the corporate market, in particular Applied NLP in Sales. This program is based on my book Using Psychological Techniques in Selling. Whether you are selling products, services or simply yourself, this program promises potential, profits and power-packed breakthroughs.

Another one that I’m very excited about is our Live By Design Practitioner program. This 8-day program is very dear to me as it gives me the opportunity to personally know the participants. Emotional baggage, inner conflicts, phobias, limiting beliefs… all removed, released & resolved! Seeing participants achieve such tremendous breakthroughs certainly motivates us even more to continue doing what we do, transforming people inspiring lives.

For those who wish to take their learning further, we have the Live By Design Master Practitioner program. For those who are determined about becoming a trainer, we have the NLP Trainers’ Training that is certified by ABNLP (American Board of NLP) and internationally recognized. So if you think about it, when you take all 3 programs this year, by the end of 2013 you will become a full-fledged NLP Trainer! How awesome is that!

Did you know that we are the only training company in the region which offers all this training, especially at the Trainer level, and also the only company in the region with two NLP Master Trainers? I would also like to humbly announce that as of now, I’m the only NLP Master Trainer certified by both ABNLP and NLP University, plus I have the honor of being the first Hypnotherapy Master Trainer in South-East Asia.

Such accomplishments would not have been possible without your constant support. I thank each and everyone one of you for joining me on life’s great journey. Now let us all make 2013 EXCEPTIONAL, EXCITING & EXTRAORDINARY!
