Gift – Accept or Decline

By | ABNLP, Action, BreakThrough, Change, Happiness, Life, Love, Self Love, Self-improvement

It is said that on one occasion when a wise man was teaching a group of people, he found himself on the receiving end of a fierce outburst of abuse from a bystander, who was for some reason very angry.

The wise man listened patiently while the stranger vented his rage, and then he said to the group and to the stranger, “If someone gives a gift to another person, who then chooses to decline it, tell me, who would then own the gift? The giver or the person who refuses to accept the gift?”

“The giver,” said the group after a little thought.

“Any fool can see that,” added the angry stranger.

“Then it follows, does it not,” said the wise man, “whenever a person tries to abuse us, or to unload their anger on us, we can each choose to decline or to accept the abuse; whether to make it ours or not.

‘By our personal response to the abuse from another, we can choose who owns and keeps the bad feelings.”

You free to choose, but the choices you make today will determine what you have, be, and do in the tomorrow of your life.”

— Zig Ziglar

In life, we decide whether we want to receive and keep “gifts” or reject and let go of them when we acquire them from others. Gifts can be either momentary or lasting are genuinely given to us to make us feel happy, appreciated and loved besides developing our self-esteem and confidence.

However, there are gifts positioned to us that create feelings of anger, sadness, guilt, regret inside of us which will affect us to be more unenthusiastic in our behaviour and have pessimistic mentality.

Do you find that perhaps you have been receiving all ‘gifts’ without thinking or considering of the consequences it will have on you and that you have to receive them no matter what?

Do you project negativity as a result of accumulating it over the years, and if so, isn’t it the time to let it go? After all, without letting go these harmful negativities, how can we be open to receive positivity?

Would you like to be able to let go of these ‘bad gifts’and get to hand-picked your own gifts and take back control of your life and designed it the way you want?

If your answer to any of the above is yes, it is time to change. Time to make new patterns and experimenting various options that will make a difference in your life. It is the time for you to join us and discover who is it you want to be and what is stopping you from being just that. Contact us to know more.

Nothing in the universe can stop you from letting go and starting over.

The 5Ps to Prosperity

By | ABNLP, Action, Billy Kueek, BreakThrough, Change, Inspiration, Motivation, Passion, Personal Development

The first step in achieving prosperity and wealth is learning to appreciate what you already have.” Anonymous

Prosperity means different things to different people. To some, it means wealth or status, and for some it may be their health, peace, family’s well-being or financial freedom. What is yours? How do you know what significance prosperity is to you? Here are some tips to get you started.

Passion

Without passion, life is only motion – Dr Billy Kueek

Passion is the driving force behind all successful people and companies. It provides the “fuel” that keeps you going during tough times, gets you up in the morning and motivates you to preserve no matter what. While many people may have great ideas and a wonderful plan to implement it, some may abandon it halfway due to lack of passion and enthusiasm. To find your passion, think about what are your values – the inner forces that drive your thoughts, actions and behaviors. By understanding yourself better and knowing your personal values, you can then work with them or change them to maximize your potential.

Planning

Proper Planning Prevents Potential Problems – Dr Billy Kueek

Plan, plan, plan. How else would you know how to prepare for, how to organize your ‘wealthy’ ideas and put them into action? By planning, you will also be prepared for setbacks and the hurdles, hence, know and concoct alternative actions you can put into place to overcome them. Success come to those who are prepared, so plan ahead to stay ahead!

Are you Perfect or Imperfect? Personal Sharing of Jessica (25 years old)

By | ABNLP, Change, Coaching, Happiness, Inspiration, Life, Live by Design, Personal Growth, Purpose

“Life is like a camera,

Focus on what’s important,

Capture the good times,

Develop from the negatives

And if things don’t work out,

Take another shot.

This quote perfectly sums up my LBD (Live By Design) journey organized by Billy Kueek International (BKI). LBD is short for Live By Design and not by default. It demonstrated to me how to live my life according to my own principles and own values, and not according to other people’s expectations. In our society or culture, there are no shortages of cases where people, friends and family members “recommend” how we should live our life, what job we should pursue, what course we should study, what to eat… and the list goes on. I am pretty sure all of us to do it – whether consciously or unconsciously – and I have had my fair share of being on the receiving end of these incidences as well while growing up.

Why did you joined this program?

I became obsessed with how other people viewed me, or what they thought of me, and hence I became pessimistic. Anger, irritation and negative thoughts were my best friends. I became withdrawn, fearful of talking to people or strangers – fearful of them judging me and my appearance. Parties and social gatherings was always making me panic as I was thinking about: “What if someone starts talking to me, and then start comparing me with my sibling (twin sister)?”

What is the program about?

LBD program, it is an 9-day certification program that incorporates Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Time Line Therapy™ (TLT), Hypnotherapy and NLP Coaching. It equips you with the knowledge and skills to resolve personal blockages, remove limiting beliefs and negative baggage and be able to Live life By Design.

How did the program helped you?

Willingness to Learn, Act and Share

What we call the secret of happiness is no more a secret than our willingness to choose life – Leo Buscaglia

 Your Willingness to Learn

How’s your willingness to learn more about improving your life and making it better? What are you currently doing to enhance your life? It is never easy to acknowledge that life could be not going the way you want it to be or that you’re stuck not knowing what to do. Pride and ego are something people hold on to defend their current situation, to avoid shame and people look down on them.

They are not willing to release these emotional clutches. They fear they will become someone they are not and will lose control of their life. Hence, how susceptible and accepting you are to change and ready to take the first step in learning? If you are willing to be a self-learner, ultimately you are developing yourself. The truth is, if you fear change, then there is no point in investing in growing, enhancing and enriching your life isn’t it?

Think about this. Wouldn’t it be silly for a person who wants a healthy body but refused to invest in healthy diets and regular exercises?

Dear Leaders, Today is Not Your Day…

By | Change, Coaching, Food for thought, Leadership, NLP, Personal Development

Sorry Leaders, but today is just not your day. We will celebrate your day another time.

Today is EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION DAY! And it is important that you, as a leader, take some time and effort to show a little appreciation for your employees for all that they have done to propel the organisation forward.

In a recent study, 45% of the the people working in Singapore are unhappy in their job. 54% are disengaged, and 12% would choose to leave their job because they felt unappreciated at work.

With the need to constantly stay competitive in the industry, organisations are finding innovative ways to create a positive working environment and engage employees on a regular basis. Evidence has shown that when people are happy working in a job that they find meaningful and are appreciated for their contributions, it would result in higher productivity, enhanced creativity and better problem solving ability. At the same time, employees feel more connected with the company, thus reducing employee turnover.

Happy Make a Friend Day!

By | ABNLP, Change, Food for thought, Live by Design, NLP, Personal Development

Do you still remember when you were a small kid and making friends was as easy as ABC? We could easily go up to another kid, start playing with each other and have lots of fun!

At this age, do you feel like it’s so tough to connect with another person? Do you feel awkward and uneasy when surrounded with strangers? Do you struggle to make a conversation with someone you just met? When a stranger says “Hi” to you, how do you respond? Do you say “Hi” back, or you start to wonder if this person has any ulterior motive for chatting you up?

I remember this incident very clearly.

A new family moved into my block on the 10th level. One day, as I took the lift down, the door opened on the 10th level and this new Caucasian neighbour walked in.

Neighbour: “Hi, how’s your day?”
Me: “Hey, it’s been great so far. Hope it gets even better. How’s yours?”

Door opened on 9th level and a middle-aged chinese lady walked in.

Neighbour: “Hi how’s your day?”

Lady completely ignored him and stared straight at the lift door, with her back to the guy. Guy turned to face me again and shrugged, completely puzzled. There was an awkward silence in the lift. When we reached the 1st level, the lady walked out immediately.

Neighbour: “I guess people here aren’t too used to receiving friendly greetings.”
Me: “We could have continued our conversation but I guess the atmosphere just now was a little awkward. Haha. Say ‘Hi” to me again next time, I’ll respond!”

We wished each other well for the day and parted ways.

What happen to being friendly? What made us start to doubt a sincere greeting & shun away from wishing each other well?

When was the last time you made a new friend?
When was the last time you tried connecting to someone new?

Make a new friend today!
